Our speaker was DARC member and UTA professor Dr. Scott McMurrough. Scott gave a fantastic presentation: "Software that Sees Will Change Lives: How Perceptual Computing Will Change lives for People With Disabilities." Scott described how he and his students at UTA are using AI (Artificial Intelligence) and eye tracking for helping disabled or paralyzed citizens cope with daily activities. He presented videos on Mobile 3D Point of Gaze estimating. He also described how the use of AI and drones and robots helped farmers manage their fruits and vegetables and other crops. This was one of the most interesting programs that I think we've ever seen.
President Vera presented a Webb Elementary library book for Scott's signature. Kris Landrith was our last laugh. We were adjourned after reciting the Four Way Test.
