TaShunda Scott was born in Chicago, yet grew up in Milwaukee. There, she discovered a love for human service work.

 

TaShunda moved to Texas in June 2018 and joined Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County as the Business Development Coordinator for Texas Live!, a world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district featuring 12 venues and over 25 bars.

 

TaShunda discovered her passion for community service within the City of Arlington. She is now the Community Manager of Spark Arlington, assisting businesses with upward movement.

 

In 2020, The City of Arlington interviewed Tashunda for its American Dream City series. In 2022, she led The Cordish Companies to receive national recognition for community impact. She also produced the October 2025 community resource fair at Texas Live!

 

TaShunda believes providing a seamless flow of resources to people and businesses will help sustain the community. She says, "The American Dream means helping your community get jobs, keep jobs, and helping them when they're not at their full potential."
