As we begin a new Rotary year, our work is already making an impact. Rotary’s seven areas of focus guide who we are as a Club and connect us to the broader global community. We invite you to join us as we make a difference through service, member support, and charitable giving.
Economic and Community Development: One of Rotary’s areas of focus is Economic and Community Development. Through our ongoing connection with Title I schools, including Webb Elementary and Nichols Jr. High, we have made a meaningful investment in students’ lives by supporting literacy, basic needs, and pathways to higher education.
Expanding Opportunities for Students: Recently, we heard from a college student speaker about a potential program that would give third graders across the city an opportunity to learn about and enjoy the environment. As we move into the year ahead, I hope we can continue identifying new ways to support and inspire our students.
Celebrating Arlington’s 150 Years: We also heard from representatives of Arlington, who shared the city’s history and the significance of celebrating its 150th anniversary. Our Club will soon support a new event connected to the “150 Years” initiative. Stay tuned!
Peace-building and Conflict Prevention: Rotary has long been committed to building peace around the world. Our Club continues that work by supporting practical efforts that address urgent community and global needs, including ShelterBox disaster relief, human trafficking education, and polio eradication.
Food Insecurity: As we move into the year ahead, food insecurity will once again be a critical area of service and support. We encourage members to look for new opportunities in this field and bring ideas to the Club so we can identify where to get involved and make the greatest impact.
I am excited for the year ahead and for the ways we can connect, serve, and grow together as members. This is a wonderful time to get involved and help make our Rotary year meaningful and impactful!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Stacy Bridger
