I am so excited and honored to serve as your 2026-2027 Rotary Club President! I realize I have some big shoes to fill with all of those who came before me! And a HUGE thanks to our now Past President Randy! We all benefited from your leadership! Thank you all for putting your trust in me – I will certainly do my best to work with everyone to Create a Lasting Impact (this year’s theme for Rotary).

I just returned from the Rotary International Convention in Taipei, Taiwan and – WOW! What a difference Rotary is making all over the world! The IMPACT starts with an idea, a skill, a heart for service, or just by simply being aware and sharing with someone else that there is a need. To CREATE viable projects, interesting programs, positive change, or just an atmosphere at meetings that is welcoming to others will all play a part in how we in Arlington fit in the big picture! To make it LAST, we will need to make sure we are thriving through leadership, connections, purposeful messaging, and a genuine outlook to grow together. We are Rotarians and used to rolling up our sleeves and getting to work!

Community is a big word in my book! Sometimes we can run like a pack of horses -a collective community - to make a Huge Impact. Other times, it is the quiet behind-the-scenes work that makes the difference both to others and in ourselves. So, I am asking you to SHOW UP and do what you can. We want to grow as a Club but also have a responsibility to YOU to fulfill things you need as well to grow as an individual. Help us know what that means for you. We have a wealth of knowledge that our long-time members can offer, a new Board of Directors, and hopefully provide a welcoming environment for our newest members and visitors. What is the “Why” that you joined Rotary? And why do you stay? Let us explore that this year!

Our new RI President, Olayinka Babalola, is challenging us to be better than our best, and I am challenging you to SHOW UP and do what you can. Together we can be a light to Create a Lasting Impact!
