Youth Services
The Youth Services committee of our club set a goal: Engage our members with our local community and businesses with youth in our community and to provide the youth with educational opportunities.
Our team engaged with the local Chamber of Commerce as a Partner in Education, participating in the Chambers recruiting and providing mentors to the Arlington Independent School Districts 8th graders as part of their curriculum in learning about available careers and what education/experience would be needed to achieve success; Entrepreneurship Day award presentations to 3rd – 8th graders for their BIG Ideas submissions; Interviewing and awarding one scholarship to each high school in the school district.
- Presentation of Rotarian Service Awards to two 8th graders in each of the 56 elementary schools and two to each of the 10 Junior High Schools in the Arlington Independent School District.
Arlington Scholarships for Webb Elementary students that graduate from high school and continue on to college have been awarded to 75 students this past year. Meetings at the were held at the high schools to award these scholarships.
As a result of these programs, we helped to create awareness and develop relationships within the community and great educational opportunities to the youth.
