Lisann Peters' Read With Rotary

Our Read With Rotary event is not reading to the students; we are set up at a table in the library during the Scholastic Book Fair. Every student comes by the book fair and picks out a book to take home and Rotary pays for the books from our Foundation. The funds are designated funds from Lisann Peters, who was our club's first female President and a huge proponent of student reading. Once the students have picked out a book, they come by our table where we place a Rotary sticker on the inside front cover of the book and the student signs their name. We briefly visit with each student with questions such as "Why did you pick this book?" or "What is your favorite subject?", etc. It goes pretty quickly - over 700 students come through! 

 

I need 2-3 volunteers each hour. You can sign up for 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours; whatever you can do! Please let me know what time(s) you would like to volunteer.
