Mr. John Blake. At little bit about John – he rejoined the Rangers in November 2008 and was most recently the club’s Executive Vice President, Public Affairs from 2022-24. He has recently transitioned into a new, part-time role of Sr. Advisor/Team Historian in November 2024.During his tenure in Texas, he also had communications responsibilities for Southwest Sports Group and the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars. He has spent the last 46 years as a full-time employee in professional sports.Career highlights include having held positions with the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles and as Sports Information Director at Georgetown University. Also, he has served as Chief Operating Officer of the Northern Baseball League, Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Collegiate Baseball League.The 2023 World Series marked the 31st time that Blake has worked in a communications role at Major League Baseball’s Fall Classic and was the recipient of the 1993 Robert O. Fishel Award from Major League Baseball for public relations excellence as well as the 2004 Harold McKinney Good Guy Award from the Dallas-Fort Worth Baseball Writers Association of America chapter.Blake was elected to the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022.
A 1977 graduate of Georgetown, John and his wife Harriet have two children, Christopher and Rebecca and live in Grapevine.
