Chief Crowson has been with the Arlington Fire Department since 1983. After promoting through the ranks, he was appointed to Fire Chief in 2010. In addition to leading the Fire Department, Chief Crowson serves as the Director of Emergency Management and Arlington’s 911 Dispatch Center. He is the Chair of the Tarrant County 911 District Board of Managers and serves as Arlington’s Point of Contact on Homeland Security grants for the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Urban Area. He is responsible for the administration of the Arlington EMS System and in 2017 he was honored by the American Medical Association as the recipient of the Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Career Public Servant on the Local Level - the first Fire Chief to receive this honor. In the last decade, Chief Crowson has led the city through numerous large-scale emergencies and has overseen public safety operations for multiple major special events. Recently he led Arlington’s pandemic response and mass vaccination effort which resulted in over 240K vaccinations. He will retire on May 31st ending a 40 plus year career serving the citizens of Arlington.
