Upon graduation from Bob Jones University in South Carolina, Mr. Doney joined the U.S. Army Bands.  During his five years as a Soldier, Mr. Doney was deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, earning the Army Commendation Medal.  He served as Operations Manager, Principal Librarian, and Principal French Horn in the U.S. Army Bands.

Following his Honorable Discharge, Mr. Doney joined the Cape Symphony in Massachusetts as Principal Librarian.  He was the catalyst for a joint concert production by the Cape Symphony and The U.S. Air Force Band staged in Cape Cod National Seashore, for which he was awarded a Coin of Excellence by The U.S. Air Force Band.

In 2021, Mr. Doney was appointed to the joint position of Assistant Librarian and Assistant Personnel Manager of The Florida Orchestra in St. Petersburg.  Promoted to Development Coordinator, he assisted with raising financial support for The Florida Orchestra's $12,000,000 annual budget.
